Why Sub-saharan Africa?
Where We Are Now
Seventy percent of Sub-Saharan Africa is under the age of 30. Many of these young people are open to the Gospel of Jesus, and Christianity is growing in some African countries. With this growth there is a tremendous need for discipleship, leadership development, the training and development of Pastors and Christian leaders, and planting healthy churches. There are two great challenges to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. One challenge is the synergistic blending of the Prosperity Gospel, African Traditional Religions, and Christianity that creates something other than Biblical Christianity. Another great challenge is the expansion and influence of Islam as it continues to move to Africa’s south and west.
Charis in Action is developing and partnering with a network of pastors, Christian leaders, and churches to make disciples and plant healthy churches who will make disciples to address these challenges and expand the Kingdom of God throughout Zambia with the vision of sending Zambians to other African countries.
We are looking for partners who will sponsor a pastor, and/or a church as we develop mature disciples andplant healthy churches.
The Antioch Kingdom Network
With your help, we can continue to strengthen and expand our footprint here. We have established a Network to empower pastors, Christian leaders, and churches with resources and a training and equipping process to disciple and develop current and potential leaders in Africa.
God has used Charis in Action to accomplish some significant ministry in Knoxville, Tennessee, and around the world. We believe God is leading us to tackle new challenges throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, and we want to ask you as our friends and prayer warriors to pray as we embrace these challenges for us and our Christian leaders in Africa.

Who We Are
We’re Dr. Todd and Kristi Stewart.
Todd has served in ministry for 35 years, beginning in 1987. He has served in six churches, was an IMB missionary in Zambia and is currently serving as the President of Charis in Action Inc. He has been married to Kristi since 1992, and they have four children and three grandchildren.
Todd graduated with a Business Degree from Cumberland College (currently University of the Cumberlands). He also earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has served in 27 countries training pastors and Christian leaders to embrace and advance the Kingdom of God.
Kristi graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree and continued on to earn a Master of Education degree there as well.
